The nostril piercing can use either captive bead rings or a nostril screw or nostril stud. The nostril screw is a one piece stud style piece of jewelry-it is u shaped with a straight post and a ball or jewel at the end. The nostril stud is a two piece style of jewelry- the jeweled or ball end stud fits into the flat back post.

Healing is 3 to 6 months with some swelling, seen only on the inside. Jewelry needs to stay intact for a minimum of 4 weeks. Nostril screws will need to be adjusted for length after 4 weeks, they are made longer to accomodate for swelling.
