Male nipples use either stright barbells, captive bead rings or circular barbells in 16, 14 or 12 gauge . The area pierced is in the nib of the nipple itself just above the areola but not in the body of the areola itself.

The healing time is 2 to 4 months and can take up to 6 months to fully season. One can expect dry skin discharge on occassion for up to a year. Heavy play or excessive weight on the piercing should be avoided for the healing period. Once healed well the piercing can be stretched in small increments.
